I read this book for summer reading bingo. I used it for the "being a girly girl is bad" box, and while I believe it fits that trope, it's not the worst offender out there. I really liked Clementine. Her hijinks reminded me of Ramona Quimby.

Adorable and so sweet. Clementine's voice as the narrator is perfect: her confusion at constantly being told to pay attention when it's the grown-ups who aren't noticing the things going on around them; the beautifully-paced way we're introduced to the reasons behind Clementine's bad week; the diff...

This was a *terrific* read and really reminded me of Eloise at the Plaza combined with some Ramona by Bev Cleary. All in all a great gift for a third grade girl and highly recommended. My copy is signed by the author and the illustrator-so happy about that!

She is a fantastic creation: adorable, funny, quirky, and very, very fun to read about. She reminds me of no other kid in middle-grade fiction than Ramona Quimby, which I suppose i...

Clementine was a really cute book about a slightly hyper-active, but otherwise well-meaning 8-year-old named Clementine. Clementine reminds me a bit of Ramona Quimby, and fills me with just as many laughs. This book has several laughs just for parents and adults, and plenty for children. Second, thi...
