Cold Fire is like ripping your heart out, stuffing it into a washing machine, and watching it go around and around, twisting and turning in every which way while you are helpless to do anything. This book. This book right here. This is really original and excellently executed epic fantasy. A step up from an already impressive first novel, Elliott's second Spiritwalker book doesn't disappoint.
