I came across Stuart MacBride when he won "Celebrity Mastermind" a week or so ago. The host asked Macbride what he did when his first novel, "Cold Granite",was so well received that his publishers asked him for the next novel in the series, even though he had no plan for one. MacBride replied, "Wel...

An excellent example of no frills Scottish noir; fast, nasty and with a streak of truly black humor.I will be reading more of this series.Highly recommended.

Strong stomach required. Love Tartan Noir - I expect that the series will improve. This one had too many disparate plot lines going at one time.

Good enough for me to get the second one. I am enjoying the Scottish dialect and the Aberdeen location.
