Colleen S. Harris was born in BayShore, New York, grew up on Long Island, and spent a number of years in Kentucky (the state where she earned her BAs, MLS, and MFA in Writing). Colleen has lived and worked as an academic librarian in Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, and is currently on the library faculty at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The author of three books of poetry and editor of two books of collected essays on women poets, in her free time Colleen works on her doctorate in Learning and Leadership and teaches courses in literature, mythology, creative writing, and poetry. She is a slave to her basset hound Otto, and goes by the moniker "warmaiden" on social networks.
