Connie Amarel was born and raised in Ohio and now lives in California with her family and pets. She has worked as an editor, proofreader, and transcriptionist, as well as a typist for other authors. Gifted in poetry, her work has been published by many organizations. Connie's love of poetry began at an early age and she believes that rhyme is a valuable educational tool for children. She also believes that imagination holds the key to the future and that this needs to be cultivated at a young age as well. All of Connie's books deal with different issues that children face and each book teaches a valuable lesson. The Gary Grasshopper series of books are all written using alliteration. Connie's book, "I Wonder Why: A Poem For Children" has been listed in a teacher's resource guide written by Adrienne Gear titled, "Nonfiction Reading Power: Teaching Students How to Think While They Read All Kinds of Information."
