I ended up liking this audiobook. Hilary Huber took some getting used to but not for long. The mystery itself I figured out who the bad guys are but with the female I didn't know the motive until the end. Speaking of the end, loved it! Talk about justice!
I thought this was much better than the first book in this series though the plotting of the actual mystery was still the main negative. I decided to listen to this on audio since the narrator,Hillary Huber, has the kind of cynical world weary though snarky voice that really fit the main character.
It is 1988, and cocaine, big hair, and Madonna are all the rage. Madeline Dare, a recovering debutante and cub journalist, lives in Syracuse, New York with her husband Dean. College-educated and a brilliant inventor, Dean is still a farmboy, a townie, and thus pretty much the direct opposite of Made...
Tries way too hard to be hip.
I really couldn't get into this book which was disappointing. I will likely go back and try to read this at a later date when I have less to choose from in my tbr pile.
