For the most up-to-date information go to www.craigbernier.netA jack-of-all-trades, Craig Bernier has supported his writing with occupations both professional and menial ranging from college instructor to line cook, technical writer to bartender, carpenter to dishwasher, kennel cleaner, sailor, and pizza delivery. Work is a key theme in his stories and Detroit the premier setting for that. Craig's writing has appeared in numerous journals and his collection of short fiction, Your Life Idyllic, won the St. Lawrence Book Award. It was released from Black Lawrence Press in August 2014. Originally from a small foundry town in Southeastern Michigan, Craig is a navy veteran who served onboard Pacific Fleet combatants and also in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He is a graduate of Macomb Community College, Wayne State University, and he was a Jacob K. Javits Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh. Home is a stone's throw from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where and his partner live with their four rescued cats. Craig is at work on a novel and a collection of nonfiction essays about his life in motorcycling.
