I'm enjoying my life like never before. I'm productive and successful in spite of my challenges; "Living Life On My Terms with No Excuses No Regrets."Well, my situation is a tad different than some people. I am home bound due to total disability from a severe progressive neurological disease. I am a survivor going from being highly physically fit as a prior police officer; Army Airborne/Ranger, and distance runner, to coping with total disability. After almost 11 years, through a roller coaster of doctors, tests, and specialists, a definitive diagnosis was determined. We've just recently received a terminal prognosis. In addition, I am a survivor of a near-fatal brain stem stroke unrelated to the neurological disease. I share my knowledge and experience with others through my personal blog, forums, and the Internet. My time is short, but that has not stopped me from living life on my terms. BUT, I've checked the bottom of my foot and there is no blue ink stamp with an expiration date. So who the hell knows, right?I've been married to my "first wife" for 38 years and have two very successful grown children. My daughter is a Paralegal, married with two sons, Sean and Morgan. My son is married to a wonderful woman who is a financial professional and he is a professional Mechanical Engineer in Chicago. We have two great dogs that take care of me. Pongo is a 10 year old Jack Russell and Belle a three year old West Highland Terrier.I use my time on the computer sparingly as my disability symptoms, including severe involuntary movements and double vision, make it very difficult to move and follow the mouse icon. It's my window to the outside world and I've had the honor and privilege to have developed many online friends throughout the world. This is not the life I had planned or expected at this point. But, you deal the best you can with the cards you're dealt. I do have a pretty warped and sick sense of humor so I don't mind using my situation to make others laugh. A laugh is a priceless gift and brightens everyone's day who hears it.So, each day I have a goal to make everyone's encounter with me to be a positive experience and have them walk away thinking, "I'm sure glad I met him today!" That applies to people on the internet as well. It feels good to know I can give people a smile or a good laugh just by writing. By accomplishing all of the above I already feel like the "wealthiest man in the world and Living Life On My Terms!"
