Craig Shaw Gardner has written bunches of books, beginning with a number of funny fantasies with names like A MALADY OF MAGICKS, SLAVES OF THE VOLCANO GOD, and THE OTHER SINBAD. His somewhat more serious books include the Dragon Circle (beginning with DRAGON SLEEPING) and the Changeling Saga (starting with THE CHANGELING WAR). He has also collected a bunch of his horror stories into a book called A COLD WIND IN JULY.Craig is slowly but surely releasing all his old titles as e-books. He also has a new, exclusive-to-e-book series, TEMPORARY MAGIC, about the temporary employment agency that secretly controls the world. We're back in funny fantasy territory here, with books featuring ghosts, vampires, a werevole, and a somewhat annoying pooka named Bob the horse. Titles in this series include TEMPORARY MONSTERS, TEMPORARY HAUNTINGS and TEMPORARY HUMAN.Craig has also done a whole bunch of media tie-in projects over the years, the most popular of which was the New York Times bestselling novelization of BATMAN (the Tim Burton version). As a part of this project, Craig actually got to walk around Gotham City (or at least the set at the movie studio.) Alas, they would not let him sit in the Batmobile.

A deputy, who is not. An old money villain who wants that house, (and the land surrounding it), and wi...

Definitely above-average, though, with a few of my favorite authors in the mix!Tanith Lee - UOUSFull of elements of disparate fairy tales, but mainly a mix of Cinderella and Tam Lin(?) - maybe. The girl with the ...

This book is pretty much exactly as advertised - if you're in the mood for some dragons, and you're a fan of fantasy fiction, there are stories here for you. They're not all excellent stories - but my rating gets raised up to 4 stars because it does have some true classics here - Anne McCaffrey's glo...

"UOUS" by Tanith LeeRichly atmospheric but ultimately unsatisfactory story of Cinderella-like Lois, whose labors for her abusive stepmother are interrupted by demands from supernatural creatures in the forest. The fact that the family was in a dilapidated house in the forest in the first place was k...

This is a nice collection of tales that focus on fairies, and that would be your older and nastier fairies than Tinkerbell. "UOUS" by Tanith Lee is, to my mind at least, the best in the collection. Lee sets up the tale nicely, making it almost sound like we are going to get a classic Cinderella t...
