You might remember that I reviewed the audio book for 'Counterpoint' the first book in this duology about a month ago and I loved it...well, some things haven't changed because I loved this one as well. 'Crescendo' picks up right where we left off at the end of 'Counterpoint'. Freyrik and Ayden a...
Evaine's Books, Books and More Books
I've had this in my TBR pile forever it seems and I wonder why? I loved the first book - Counterpoint - a lot, but for some reason I never got around to reading this one. I shouldn't have waited so long. Why? First off, because I enjoyed it, but secondly, because it follows right on the heels of...

The ending was chopped off, and crudely so.
As optimistic as the ending is, I absolutely hated the very last chapter. Way too easy and cheerful and completely out of character for all the human folk in this book.
For most of the book, I would give Crescendo 3.5 stars, but decided to give it a solid 4 stars by the end.Crescendo is a good sequel to Counterpoint, but there were some things I didn't really enjoy. For one, I felt that Ayden is constantly the one to sacrifice more in his relationship with Freyrik....

I loved him with all my heart. After a long time (must admit most of it because of the price of this book), aka...

This book. This BOOK! God I loved this book. Everything about it was perfection to me. Ms. Haimowitz's characterization of the two mc's is incredible. I felt everything they felt, saw everything they saw, and smiled at every moment of sensuality and romance between the two. Poor Freyrik Farr and Ayd...

4.5 stars. Very good m/m fantasy romance picking right up where the first book left off, as a human prince-regent and his elven lover-slave try to find their way through deceit and betrayal and perhaps save both their races.
