I'm not quite sure what to make of The Crucible, if only because I don't know the history of the Salem Witch Trials all that well. This book frightened me in every meaning of the word! I was shocked that we ever did this to people. I enjoyed the parallels to the McCarthy red terror era after taking my American history course.

Read aloud in a HS classroom wherein a large subset of the boys snickered any time the name Tituba was pronounced. That aside, I enjoyed it very much.
