3.5 stars...I thought it was a good story. I listened to the Audio book & really liked the narrator. I felt like there should be a sequel though about "Crystal Gardens" but the sequel is actually about the ladies with the paranormal talent so was kind of dissapointed that we won't hear more about Lu...

This definitely follows the standard Amanda Quick formula, which fortunately is a formula I quite like, so I really enjoyed this book.

Not my favorite from Amanda Quick, but still entertaining. As with all of Ms. Quick/Krentz/Castle's books, it was very... light. I've read all but a few books from this author (which is saying something -- I know there's over 80 of them, probably more), and one thing I've always been able to count ...

Crystal Gardens is for readers who enjoy their historical romance with strong paranormal elements. In this case, a huge part of the story is the concept of 'psychical energies.' Both Evangeline and Lucas have paranormal abilities, and they are drawn to Crystal Gardens, Lucas' deceased uncle's estat...

One could say the recent Quick/Krentz/Castle books are quite formulaic—a tall, dark, handsome, brooding, paranormally endowed hero + a headstrong, feisty, unconventionally beautiful, paranormally gifted heroine + paranormally enhanced environment + bad guys obsessed with treasure/artifacts/etc. + a ...

Do all of her pseudonyms have psychic stuff in it? It gets confusing.

3.5 starsAmanda Quick (aka Jayne Ann Krentz, aka Jayne Castle) has been a comfort read author of mine for years. I know exactly what to expect when I pick up a book and she usually delivers a good solid story.Crystal Gardens has all of the standard JAK/AQ elements:1. The hero, Lucas Sebastian, is s...

Classic Amanda Quick (aka Jayne Ann Krentz). Evangeline Ames is an intelligent older (virgin) heroine with some paranormal talent, who meets Lucas Sebastien, her landlord, a mysterious older man who others are afraid of (because they sense but don't understand his paranormal talents). Someone is try...

3.5*s (if I could) Like most Amanda Quick books, I liked this one. Evangeline is a typically Amanda Quick heroine. She's capable and no-nonsense but still has a sense of fun and adventure. Lucas erred on the too brooding side for me, especially since he was a bit of an ass to his family. I swear...
