I think my biggest problem with this book was the unnecessary details. For example, he starts off with something interesting about how a teacher discovered Shiva's having given up speech...and promptly goes off for several paragraphs about the school and organizations and details that didn't add any...
Steeped in Science, Submersed in Story
This is great novel. Just fantastic storytelling. And it's a novel about surgeons who love their work by an author who shares and also loves their work. It almost made me want to be a surgeon (and that's a huge leap, believe me). The characters are fully fleshed out, and it's a monumental story,...

The storyline sounded interesting, but I wasn't crazy about the execution. I must be one of the few who didn't love this.
