Dana Evans was born in Ames, Iowa and grew up on a farm until she was 12 years old. A move to the city in 1979 allowed her to pursue her love of sports. She was a competitive swimmer throughout grade school, junior high, and high school. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Technical Communication. She currently lives in San Antonio, TX with her son Alex and husband Nick. She is a WSI certified swimming instructor and loves to see children learn to swim.
