this book said the man, lord john had seen the horrors of war and was injured in body and soul. when he had the flashback about the war i was not expecting child rape. and i was not expecting the graphic details of said rape to be repeated in the book 2 more times after that in his nightmares. ...
Boy oh boy. Corny, Boring, Predictable, and Uninteresting. I had A LOT of issues with this book.1. Plot. It appeared somewhere at the end of the book (at about 70%) although it had been lurking its head around since the beginning. In any case, the plot felt quite recycled. The worst part is that it...
This is the second book in the Splendid Series. I have already read the first book in the series and this book makes Alex Ridgley, the hero in Splendid #1, a not-so-good businessman. He's a Duke and a rich one according to Splendid #1, then why didn't he buy the estate adjacent to his estate that Jo...
3-3.25 stars - because it is, after all, a Julia Quinn bookSplendid was mostly that - splendid. Dancing at Midnight was... a fun read and worth the read in the end, but rather tortured at times (and not just the Hero), rambling, and seemed to include a lot more story elements than necessary.I applau...

But it wasn't well done at all. The heroine was too full of herself and TSTL in too many places and the hero underw...
This is perhaps my all time favorite JQ book. I love John. He's so damaged, but still so wonderful. I love how Belle makes him write her a poem and he tries to plagiarize from all over, and she catches him at it every time. It's a poignant yet funny tale. Love JQ's older books.
What a great story! I laughed and cried many times! Such wonderful writing and really engaging characters!! I love this authors work!!I am currently on a Regency kick and this one was terrific!!
