Not a proper review, but I just wanted to say that if you enjoy Amanda Quick's books, then you should definitely enjoy this one. I did particularly like the heroine in this one, and I enjoyed the romance between her and the hero. I will be using this one for the Historical Fiction square.
A History Nut's Romantic State of Mind
A re-read from my youth, this one is. I read almost all of Amanda Quick's one-word romance novels years ago. Formulaic that they are, I seem to recall them with great clarity. During this phase, Amanda Quick had a distinct preference for eccentric heroines, often with spectacles paired with cold-on-...

I enjoyed this book while being annoyed by it at the same time. This book was written in 1993 (from what I can find) while my favorite Amanda Quick book – Scandal – was written in 1991. And it seems as if the characters were re-written slightly to create this book. And I think that’s where my irrita...

It does follow pretty predictable Amanda Quick/Jayne Ann Krentz lines with the story and the characters. That's not a problem for me as I do like the characters she creates and these two are better than some others. I could see the growing affection for the characters and the growing understanding...

Like 4 or 5 years ago I've read almost all books by Amanda Quick. She became one of my favorites Historical Romance authors, along with Lisa Kleypas and Julie Quinn. The bad thing about reading all her books in a row is that, with time, you tend to mix the plots, the characters, which is what happen...

This was a re-read. I tend to enjoy Amanda Quick's historicals because her heroes and heroines are never the typical titled members of the ton. It is great seeing two misfits find someone they fit with :).This has murder mysteries, hidden jewels, ghosts, scandal and lots of laughs.

I loved this heroine she was not the typical insecure type but was one that was quite happy in her own skin

What can I say? I love a Nick and Nora story. A frothy, funny story where the hero doesn't get to oppress the heroine much at all. It's wrapped around two violent tragedies, so watch out for the sudden dip from sparkling banter to way too much distressing detail.

Prudence och Sebastian finds a soul mate in each other, they're both proned to investigation and to look beneath the surface, Prudence through her paranormal and ghost investigations and Sebastian through the work he does for the Bow Street runners. Regency, romance, smutty fluff and suspense. Love ...
