When a machine cracked the barriers between the dimensions, tens of millions of people and animals fell through the cracks, ending up on different Earths with no way to return home throughout the multiverse. The passage through the dimensions have changed them giving them powers and curses, each one different, each one more than human or animal.

Going from her safe home in our world, to a North America that suffered through WW3 and is still rebuilding decades later. Even worse, she merged with the cat, become stronger, more agile, and with keener senses than any human alive. Yet with that power, she lost her human body becoming a cat-human hybrid.

Now she is in a government safe house, kept secret from the rest of the world, with four other dimensional refugees. The researchers say they're protecting them, learning how to send them home.
