Daniel Ducrou is a novelist and short story writer based in Melbourne, Australia. His first novel, The Byron Journals, is a coming-of-age story set in Australia's hippy-surf mecca, Byron Bay. The Sydney Morning Herald described the book as 'hedonistic and debauched', The Independent Weekly called it 'compulsive reading' and Time Out Sydney wrote: 'Ducrou's debut novel takes you into the underworld of Byron Bay, and spits you back out'. The Byron Journals has also been shortlisted for various literary awards including the Victorian Premier's and the Australian Vogel. Ducrou's writing has featured in The Age, Sleepers Almanac, The Big Issue and various street press. He is currently working on a screenplay version of 'Grandpa does The Melbourne Shuffle' and a second novel - a surf story set in Indonesia.
