Growing up in Nottinghamshire, England - beside Sherwood Forest - Daniel Pembrey loved to invent stories. Some he wrote down ... but before he knew it, a business career had taken over: financial analysis, an MBA and ten years spent in the business development team of a West Coast Internet company. These experiences would provide settings and ideas for his fiction. Daniel is most drawn to psychological suspense stories, especially those with a strong sense of location. He has set stories in Silicon Valley and Seattle, South Carolina, Luxembourg and Amsterdam. Inspirations include D.H. Lawrence, Raymond Chandler, Michael Connelly, Ian Rankin and Scandinavian crime fiction. When he is not writing, he loves to read, travel and meet interesting new people.
