Daniel Tucker is an artist, author and organizer living in Philadelphia who has contributed to numerous books ("Whirlwinds" on AK Press, "Experimental Geography" on Melville House Books and "A Guide to Democracy in America" on Creative Time Books) and magazines. His particular focus has been on documenting social and cultural movements and the places from which they emerge. From 2005-2010 he edited AREA Chicago http://www.areachicago.org/ - the print/online publication dedicated to researching and networking art, research, education, and activist practices in Chicago. In 2006 he co-edited the pamphlet "Trashing the Neoliberal City: Autonomous Cultural Practices in Chicago from 2000-2005″ (Learning Book, ISBN 87-92065-00-7) with Emily Forman, and in 2011 he released two catalogs of his collaborative art work "Note's for a People's Atlas" and "Visions for Chicago" (Green Lantern Press). His book of interviews with activist farmers, "Farm Together Now" (Chronicle Books, 2010), co-authored Amy Franceschini was selected by Michael Pollan as his favorite food book of the year on Grist.org. Tucker recently edited a volume focused on the intersection of art, ecology and ethics entitled "Immersive Life Practices" (School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 2014).
