Danny Brown is a professional journalist and photographer and retired as Communications Director for Louisiana Department of Revenue. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Louisiana State University, with Minors in History and Political Science. During his journalistic career, he has worked both as a staff photographer and general assignments reporter for the Baton Rouge State-Times and Morning Advocate newspapers. His more notable assignments include covering Apollo moon missions 12, 14, 16, and 17. He is the author of the books, Shooting the Pistol: Courtside Photographs of Pete Maravich at LSU (LSU Press 2008) and Lives That Will Never Rust (BIC Media Solutions 2013). He has authored numerous newspaper features, short stories, and poems, and has had his photographs published in national publications. He has twice served as President of the Baton Rouge, LA Civil War Round Table, and has served five times as President of the Pelican Relic and Recovery Association, a Baton Rouge historical organization.Over his career, he has received many awards and recognition, including a First Place in Sports Photography for United Press International News Service, and the Best Sports Picture of the Year Award from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
