This was a solid anthology. Like most anthologies, a couple stories didn't do it for me, most were good, and a few great. Two of the stories that stood out the most to me were Tanith Lee's and K.D. Wentworth's.

It doesn’t quite feel like Bradley did the editing on this one even though she is listed. “Memories of the Sea” will make you look at pearls differently, and that really is the only reason to read this book.

Marion Zimmer Bradley edited this lacklaster collection. None of the short stories excited me, but two were better than the rest: Jessie Eaker's "Bad Luck and Curses," and Dave Smeds's "Rusted Blade."
