"Revolt of the Animals" is an animal fantasy novel that tells how animals rise up everywhere, from Chernobyl to the Gulf Oil Spill, to protect the environment. The "Revolt" is led by Old Eddie, the wisest elephant at the National Zoo. One episode from the book: The Russians say that computer malfunction caused the Chernobyl meltdown. Wrong! It was caused by anopheles mosquitoes, carrier of the dreaded equine encephalitis, who put the control operators to sleep, while "ratz" chomped on wires, turned "off" switches to "on", and turned "on" switches to "off". This book is highly recommended by various environmental writers and leaders, including Steve Ann Chambers, former president, The Animal Legal Defense Fund.
