David McDermott was born in Liverpool to a father with Irish descent and a mother with Scottish descent. He worked in shipping, banking and education before publishing his first book, "Prayers from Revelations of Divine Love" in 2009. It is a translation from the 14th century mystic Julian of Norwich's book "Revelations of Divine Love." The book also includes an extensive research on the meaning of the visions. Julian received sixteen visions from our Lord Jesus Christ in 1373. She then spent twenty years in prayer and contemplation and received the meaning of the visions.
