*I received a copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.I really enjoyed this one from David Naill Wilson. I had no idea what to expect from this one, but have enjoyed David’s previous work and decided to give it a go. Glad I did. An old mystery resurfaces in Old Mill a...

A twisted novella and chapbook from the warped minds of David Niall Wilson and Bret Alexander Savory. I can’t say too much about this one without ruining it and honestly, couldn’t really describe it if I wanted to. It was strange and engaging and extremely well written. Filled with disturbing imager...

Great characters, well developed in a fast moving western tale of love lost, bargains made, conjured angels and demons, otherworldly talismans and revivals. What more could you ask for? Solid 4+ Stars. Highly Recommended.

Hmm. The writing is very good. It was on another level. Deep comes to mind. The writing was deep and it flowed with its own lyrical tempo. The story itself was melancholic. The story didn't pull me in. Maybe because I'm unfamiliar with bands and music. I'm just not that in touch. And the whole book u...

Please see my in-depth review at Casual Debris. The publication is quite diverse in content (featuring interviews and reviews) and in the style of its fiction. The overall fiction seems to prefer some element of fantasy, and all but two stories function on the basis of a strong fantastical element. D...

I love a well-written tale of backwoods darkness, and Wilson delivered just that in this tale of a black sheep son returning home to finish a job his father began. Creepy atmosphere, superb characterizations and beautifully dark description made this such an engrossing read that I didn't even notice...

This is an excellent collection with a very good set of stories. If you like either Sherlock Holmes, or the works of H.P. Lovecraft, then you will like this anthology. The writers capture both the traits of the great detective with the ambiance and feel of Lovecraft's mythology. This is a good book ...

Most of the stories in the book are okay. My favorite, however, wasMichelle West's retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a good dose of O. Henry. But overall, the collection was disappointing. The stories were either too predictable or too boring. West's one was very good, so go to the library ...

A fantasy collection of short stories about elves... like most such compilations, some are better than others, and most are (very) light reading... but overall it's been quite enjoyable.
