Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Dawn is a former Spelling Bee Champion, and was promoted from the 7th to 9th grade. Dawn left home after graduating from high school at the tender age of 18, and moved to California, never returning to Michigan to live again.​ At age 19, Dawn earned an Associate of Arts Degree from West Los Angeles College. Dawn continued her education, and at 22 years of age, earned a Bachelors degree in Journalism from California State University Dominguez Hills, then later attended Law School at the University of Southern California. Dawn's career started when her poise and confidence won her the title of Model of The Year, and a finalist in The Miss Teen USA Pageant. After her featured appearances on OPRAH, Donahue and Cristina, Dawn was besieged with letters from viewers to write a book, which inspired Fast Girls Finish Last - A Girls Guide to Becoming a Virgin with Attitude! As a celebrity spokesperson, Dawn has been featured nationwide in newspapers and magazines, and has appeared as a special guest on Geraldo, Montel, Leeza, The British TV Network and more! Dawn has professionally modeled in the United States and Europe. Dawn enjoys fine dining, theater, decorating her home, and reading U.S. Circuit Courts and Supreme Court Opinions, preferably with blistering dissent. Dawn elects not to practice law, and says "Unfortunately the legal profession is just as corrupt as the medical and food industry, as judges and commissioners/ (wanna-be-judges) routinely do NOT follow or enforce laws, or worse, are incompetent." Dawn has successfully argued before the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, where she received a favorable PUBLISHED Opinion that OVERTURNED a Federal Court Judge. Dawn has one sibling, a full-blood brother, Bruce "Sonnie". Sonnie was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, SPOKE and WROTE fluent Japanese, and was employed part time while serving Military duty as a Japanese-English translator in Japan, when he was stationed at Tachikawa Air Base, a suburb 40 miles northeast of Tokyo. Dawn has no nieces or nephews.​
