Pretty good! Michael Scott is such a great writer. Just when you think that you're making headway with the end of the story, you get thrown a curve ball and feel like you've been pushed back to the beginning again. So many twists and turns!! Can't wait to get started on the next one!
"The Sorceress" is the strongest of the first three books in the Flamel series. Josh is less mopey; the characters of Shakespeare, Palamedes and Gilgamesh add spice and nuance to the book; and the concepts of the Horned God and the Wild Hunt are imaginative and interesting. Perenelle's being trapped...
The best in the series so far for me. So many interesting Immortals, Elders, Next Generation and even the introduction of yet another race, the Archons. Excellent energy and pace, it was so action packed and really kept me wanting to read more. I also enjoyed all the new mythology I learned in this ...
As with the other 2 books, I found it very difficult to put away. Non-stop action and fascinating backstories are the perfect ingredients for an astoundingly good read.
Lots of action in this third volume, plus some character development for Machiavelli, Dee, and Perenelle Flamel. There's also a reasonable amount of foreshadowing of what the implications of being the legendary twins may be for the twin Sophie and Josh.More than the action, however, this installment...
