I have a weakness for mountains and cabins and the pictures of Colorado mountains always leave me breathless. You can already guess that I liked the setting a lot. As in a lot. Cassidy was a great character. She was independent, hard-working, and fearless. She loved what she did and to my relief she...

I think reading this right after Reapers Stand was a mistake, I now know that "badasses" can speak in full coherent sentences. Ashley is an author that is extremely hit or extremely miss for me and it seems like a lot of others loved this book so if you're fan of previous books, this one seems to be...

Deacon (The Unfinished Heroes Series Book 4) by Kristen Ashley Deacon has an ugly history, a history that broke him, leaving him a ghost of a man. Solid 4.75 Stars*VERY MILD spoilers*Let me start by saying that I was VERY surprised with how much I liked this book. Considering the tone & how it was all executed, normally this type of story would not have worked for me. I would have needed more somehow. But I think what made it work, was simply ...

Honestly, I should just copy and paste my last several KA book reviews here. Change the names and it would apply. I'm obviously a little burnt out on typical trope she uses in 99% of her story lines. On a plus side, KA definitely made an effort to push her limits a little further. I loved that...

I've read a good number of books by Kristen Ashley -- some I've really liked and most recently, some that I didn't. Because of the latter, it's been more than a year since I've read anything by Ms. Ashley. I was intrigued by countless 4 and 5 star reviews for Deacon, so against my better judgement ...

This might be the book in the Unfinished Heroes that I like best. Most likely because Deacon kept so much of his life from Cassidy. As much as I love music and the use of it for books, this one was a bit odd. There was zero mention of songs or music until the end. As in, they sat quietly IN THE CAR....

"I so love you more," I retorted. He looked back at me. Then he whispered "Beautiful war." Beautiful war. It was indeed."Deacon Deacon. I think Kristen Ashley jumped inside my mind and grabbed all my favorite "book men" qualities and made Deacon. She made him for me, I just know it!!=) He is a ma...
