Sookie Stackhouse never fails to amuse me, that's for sure. This girl gets into more trouble or predicaments than anyone possibly can. Sookie gets mixed up in yet another supernatural mess when she goes with Alcide to the funeral of the Packmaster when he is killed. Seems innocent enough to go to a funeral right? Well, not for Sookie, she finds out that she is there for way more than paying her respects at the request of Alcide for the fallen Were. There is to be a new Packmaster now and Alcide wants her to be at the "meeting" at which they prove which of the two candidates it should be, one of which is Alcide's father. In the mist of all this going on there is someone out there killing or trying to kill, shifters. While trying to figure out who would do such a thing, the situation hits closer to home for Sookie when Sam is shot while in the parking lot of the bar with her and she is shot because she had the scent of a shifter on her. Will they figure out who is hunting the shifters? Also, Sookie is left to deal with the burning of her house. Who would try to kill her by burning her in her own home? Is this all connected or is it two separate mysteries? Add to that the love triangle Sookie always seems to weave and there is a lot of things to contemplate in this book!
