Although thoroughly entertaining as all of the Sookie Stackhouse books have been, I found this story less cohesive. The previous stories had a clear main story line that was the mystery. I kept forgetting that what the main story line on this one was. There was so much going on and the end left me f...

Learning more about Weres' rituals sounds more interesting than it was. Overall, this book didn't seem as good as the previous 4. Hopefully, the action will ramp up again in the next book.

Title: Dead as a Doornail Author: Charlaine Harris ISBN: 978-0-441-01333-3 Pages: 295 Date Started: January 8, 2015 Date Finished: January 10, 2015 If the fourth book of the series was the best of the bunch then this must be the worst. I wanted to provide my review for just the first seven of the series, because they are the best. The rest from book eight onward just slowly trickle downhill. The fact that I have now read all of the current (paperback) books in this series must mean I decided I like it. Sookie’s world is a much easier, light-hearted, relatable read than many other alternaworld novels. Anita Blake’s world has become so twisted, dark, and occasionally deprived that the a...

The first guess as to where Jason was always involved a woman, and the second guess usually included another woman. He had a slight accent. English was not his second language, of course; it was maybe his twenty-fifth. "And what happened to you?" I asked politely, meaning how did he come to depart...

First of all, the woman who illustrates the covers of these books is just awful. I could create a better cover illustration by dunking my feet in paint and doing a tapdance on the book. And as much as I am enjoying this series, I am concerned these dime novels are like McDonald's for my brain.

I was really looking forward to continuing this series. When I initially started reading the “True Blood” books I thought I would dislike them… I really just started the series to say I tried it! It is so not the case, I am totally in love with Sookie, and all the fabulous shape shifters and vampire...
