Jackie Jones is the newest entrant into the world of fictional private investigators. African-American, 35 and divorced, Jackie calls Detroit, Michigan home. A former cop with the Detroit Police Department, she is attractive, tough, streetwise, adventurous, witty, and romantic. She is currently involved in an interracial relationship with a homicide detective named Sam Taylor, and has a feisty German Shepherd named Leroy. When her ex-husband, Frank Jones, the Motor City's first African-American District Attorney, suspects his new wife, Candi, of having an affair, he hires Jackie to prove it. She finds his suspicions more than a little ironic, considering it was his own infidelity with Candi that ended their marriage.
