I distinctly remember buying this book at the same time I bought The Bad Beginning. I never finished A Series of Unfortunate Events, but I read all of the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. I really want the nine-year-old to read them. I think she'd enjoy the series. I think of this series as fantasy fo...
Princess Cimorene, after a being told that everything she wants to learn and do just isn't done by Princesses, runs away. She uses the advice of an enchanted frog and becomes the princess of the dragon Kazul. She is soon having the time or her life. There's something funny going on between the drago...
This book series has been around for a while. However, I was never introduced to it until recently. It's one of my best friend's favorite series and I can see why. It's a book about what I like to call "old magic." I love books that are truly about the magic and adventure that books from the past us...
Dealing with Dragons is, in a few words: a delight. Don't let the incredibly short blurb - and the book's compact size put you off - this is a book that is a must-read for fantasy-lovers and dragon-fans alike! I can't believe I only read this one now, and if anyone out there hasn't read this little ...
I am so darn mad that this series started when I was young enough to fall in love with it, and I totally missed out. The whole time I was reading Dealing With Dragons, all I could think about was how much I would have loved this as a kid. Well, that and the fact that I'd love to have my own little o...
Cimorene is sick of being a princess. They never get to do anything interesting, like fencing, or magic, or reading Latin. Having attempted all of these things- and more- rather than sit through another embroidery lesson, Cimorene is running out of time before her parents foist their troublesome off...
2004 or 2005October 6, 2007Currently reading aloud to the Possum - She's decided to carry on on her own in favor of me reading [book:The Mysterious Howling|6609748]. Well, I can't blame her. That's also a good one.July 20, 2014I originally read this series out loud to the girls when they were wee. ...
"He doesn't seem very impressed," Cimorene commented in some amusement. "Why should he be?" Kazul said. "Well, you're a dragon," Cimorene answered, a little taken aback. "What difference does that make to a cat?" Before Harry Potter, there was Princess Cimorene, a dragon named Kazul, and the Enchant...
Oh how I wish this kind of anti-romance was being written for my age group. At least, that's what I thought when I had only read this first volume in a quartet that goes quickly downhill. I'm not even sure I'm going to give this book to my niece at all.
Good for light read. Characterization is interesting, Cimonere is a rebellious princess without annoying attitude. Old fairy-tale-like fantasy which brought up good memories from childhood. Highly recommended.
