I felt a little cheated by the title of this book, since the part that includes dying by black hole is close to the end of the book. After listening to that part, however; I understand why this book is called that. It's a very intense and disturbing image. I've listened to another of Tyson's b...

Seems like a collection of essays, but they are collected into larger topics and work well together. Death by Black Hole is only one of them; most are excellent and very accessible to the non-physicist. First I've read from Dr. Tyson; will read more in the near future!

Neil esta acaparando casi todo el espacio en ese huequito de mi corazón...

Blinded by scienceEinstein, Io, comet tails Information glutI consider myself an intelligent person. I also find science fascinating. I will pick this up again when I am in the mood for more hard science.-----------interesting factoids:1) the "spokes" of Venus that Percival Lowell thought he saw are now believed to have been shadows cast upon his retina from his own ocular blood vessels, due to the optical setup he used to view th...

I'm conflicted about this book. The dialogue is funny, fast and Whedon-esque (in fact, a LOT of this book could have been modeled on Firefly. A disturbing amount, as I think about it) and the characters are likable enough- but there's inadequate world-building. I didn't get enough of the backstory t...
