The story was enjoyable but the flip flop journal entry bits were a bit rough to get around. I'm eagerly waiting to see what the thing at the end of the book wants and more about why she wears gloves. Betty and Anthony were more annoyance than anything else.

Blurb: Policing relations between Heaven, Hell, and Earth is messy and violent, but Elise Kavanagh and James Faulkner excelled at it-- until coming across a job so brutal that even they couldn't stand to see one more dead body. Now they've been pretending to be normal for five years, leaving their ho...

Not sure what I think of this really. Read it all in one night (hello insomnia) but wouldn't say it was particularly gripping.

Extreme action scenes made this story a hair pulling adventure. They were so intense I could feel my heart racing and sweat beading on my brow...ARUGH! The problem was that for me the were too much. This girl took beating after beating- she went out/down so many times and woke up to do it again. I ...

3.5/5 I'm going to be short in this review. I'm a great fan of Constantine, which is why I loved the idea of Elise - a lone exorcist who works as an accountant for demons and tries to bury her past. However, the book despite excellent action scenes, and there is a lot of them, lacks wholesomeness of ...

Elise is a kopis. A fighter of demons, and exorcist, a warrior for the light and innocent against the dark. Or she was anyway. She's retried, she's an accountant now. Of course she may have to poke some of her clients with sharp things now and then to make them pay – demons can be pretty stingy – bu...
