Creepy chick on cover doesn't seem v. into it. Because I totally relate to a poor little rich trust fund baby and her almost gratuitous law degree from Yale... The book starts out at her going away party. Not the going away party you assume; the going away party for her alter ego who has decided...
3 starsDebbi Rawlins is a new author for me. She usually writes under the Harlequin Blaze imprint, one of my least favorite lines, so I haven’t picked up one of her books before. Since Harlequin Western Romance is my favorite line, and this title appeared at the library, I just grabbed it and dove r...
I’m of two minds when it comes to road trip stories involving two characters who start off at odds with one another but by the end become best friends/fall in love. On the one hand, I can’t help but think that there’s some weird variation of Stockholm Syndrome happening, turning almost enemies into ...
Book Links for this Review: Harlequin Blaze March 2014 Bundle Captivate Me, by Kira Sinclair I’m trying to alternate reviews of past/classic titles with more recent publications, so I’m not always behind the pack. That, and the fact that I’d never read any Harlequin titles and was curious about ...
I really liked the story for Kate and Mitch. We first saw them in the September BLAZE collection with an earlier book by Debbi Rawlins. This was a great way to finish up. You really feel for the characters and it is easy to like sexy Mitch right away. Kate has unexpected news and it tears her apart....
These were all really short novellas and suffered from that fact. They all read like there was a strict word count and none of the authors could adequately tell their story within that limit. Also, it's okay if story doesn't have declarations of love or sex if cramming it in there doesn't make sense...
The characters were engaging which is why I stuck with the book. If you like some suspense or action in your reading, this book probably isn't for you. But it was a nice fluffy Christmas story.
Grade: B+He sighed. “With all the beautiful airheads I have at my disposal, I had to choose a smart-ass to meet my folks.”The set-up:Freelance editor Emily drags herself out of her self-made, home-based Cave of Solitude for a much-needed splurge in New York City — but a run-in with a big-league ball...
While there were problems with this book I did like the main characters. They both have issues but in this book you see two people who find what they needed when they didn't realize it.Alana is a strong woman every where but with her mom. She's definitely city but when push came to shove she discov...
Ok, this is line the second commune raised h I've run across and neither one has exactly endeared herself to me. The other was a self-righteous, sanctimonious cow. This one is just a neurotic, overbearing, meddling control freak. (in the beginning, she could't help it; she just had to stop by the c...
