Deborah Middleton grew up in Bermuda. An inveterate globetrotter, she has lived in the U.S., Costa Rica, Venezuela, England and Italy. An island girl at heart, however, she now lives in Mallorca where her personal quest is to find the perfect Spanish wine.Wine, Bermuda and some of these countries feature in her murder mysteries. Her first two novels of the Detective Inspector Burgess series have gone down well with the Bermuda community, especially if they poke a little fun at the Government - a favourite national pastime."Square Snapper" (2008) and "Never Too Dead To Talk" (2010) differentiate themselves from others of the genre precisely because the stories unfold against an authentic Bermuda backdrop which is exotic and unfamiliar to international readers. Her writing also brings out the sort of 'town and gown' contradiction between sophisticated international financial centre, and the locals' sometimes 'big village' approach to life. She is currently working on a third novel in the series and, inspired by Mallorca's Rafa Nadal, is working hard on improving her forehand and hoping that tennis elbow will not interfere with her typing.Visit her website: www.bermudamysteries.com to learn more about her novels and the girl herself.
