This medieval mystery seemed focused on developing characters to set up the rest of the series. I did like Faucon de Ramis and his unwilling assistant, Brother Edmund, but the action was slow moving. This was a decently plotted enemies turned lovers story. I actually believed it, which actually shocked me. There is not a lot of smut in this book, mostly at the end. I am actually shocked.
