This medieval mystery seemed focused on developing characters to set up the rest of the series. I did like Faucon de Ramis and his unwilling assistant, Brother Edmund, but the action was slow moving. The author demonstrated firm knowledge of the late 12th century, and I enjoyed the characters enough...

Yup, this was the worst book in the series. I pretty much skimmed read it.

This was a decently plotted enemies turned lovers story. I actually believed it, which actually shocked me. There is not a lot of smut in this book, mostly at the end. I am actually shocked.

This was an amusing read. Flowery romantic language? Yes. Archaic terms and words? Yes.Purple-prose sex? Yes. All-in-all. A long, but entertaining read.

This isn't realistic at all, but I enjoyed it for what it is.Feminism is a dirty word in this book. There was one kick-ass character named Nicola, who needs to call me. *throws panties*Okay, I don't know what came over me there. *clears throat*
