曾超兒 博士 Denise was born in Hong Kong from Mainland Chinese parents. She is second daughter of five siblings. Her father was sold to a wealthy spinster as adopted son at seven while her mother was the eldest of a land owning family who spent her childhood working in the fields due to the shortage of male labor. Her parents met in a Hong Kong factory and contributed towards its economic miracle. She considered her father, who trained in Confucian classics, as the kindest person she has ever met. Denise attended an Italian convent school at young age despite her parents practised ancestor worship at home. She pursued her university education at Reading and and is currently a Reading based academic. She continuously re-connects with her roots via her research. She married to an aspired piano composer and has three children.
