Dennis Hamilton was born in Long Beach, California, and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he lives today. An award-winning journalist in college, Hamilton was editor-in-chief for ICP, Inc., then the world's leading publisher of information about computer software. He has written more than 1000 articles for more than 50 journals and published several books, including biographies ("Jungle Rules" and "Beyond Tallulah") and technical books (including "Discover What's Online" and others). His most recent novel is "Pageant of Savages," about terrorism come to the heartland. A collection of his short fiction, including the Nebula Award-nominated "The Alteration," will be published in the Summer of 2012. Hamilton continues to live in Indianapolis with his wife, Jan, where they raised their two children, David (a Los Angeles-based writer) and Whitney (mountain-climbing mother of the lovely Ada). Notoriously camera shy, the most well-known photo of Hamilton is of him wrestling a 160-pound ape named Butch while a member of the wrestling team for the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
