The beginning was slow, a little difficult to get through. After that I couldn't put it down.
As my two stars indicate, it was ok. Well-written, and the story was interesting enough to keep me reading... but just barely. I was frustrated with how Haskell and Olympia chose to deal with the shit hitting the fan, and I had a hard time getting over that, so that may be why I think it's only ok...
I associate Anita Shreve's books - deservedly or not - with dowdy true story TV movies.
