DEVON O'DAYA Louisianan by birth, Tennessean by choice, and a New Yorker along the way, Devon O'Day has enjoyed life in the fast lane with country road roots.While her sister, Emmy nominated actress Faith Ford, moved to New York City right out of high school, Devon enrolled at the University of Louisiana - Monroe where she graduated and later joined Faith in The Big Apple, where she did post-graduate work in the writer's program at New York University, and became a model with the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency. While in NYC, Devon also studied acting at the Weist-Barron School, The Actor's Studio, and the Loft, and chose voice-over acting as her specialty.Devon's radio career began some twenty years ago at KRRV-FM in Alexandria, LA, then to KPAL-FM in Pineville, LA, KNOE-FM in Monroe, LA, and almost eighteen years at WSIX in Nashville, TN as part of the number one morning show in the country, "GERRY HOUSE, AND THE HOUSE FOUNDATION". Devon now hosts her own Country Spirit Radio Show heard on WSIX and nationally on XMRadio.Her songwriting credits include Hank Williams, Jr, Ray Stevens, Neal McCoy, Trace Adkins, and a number one by George Strait called, "The Big One". Devon's songwriting credits by Lee Ann Womack, Pam Tillis, Marty Raybon, The Freemans, and Soul Real are products of her co-writes with Dove award winning songwriter, Kim McLean. As an inspirational and motivational speaker, Devon O'Day has hosted/participated on national radio shows Country Hitmakers, The Songmakers, Saturday Night House Party, America's Number Ones, and countless radio specials for recording artists like Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks, Kenny Chesney, The Isaacs, Trace Adkins, Martina McBride, Keith Urban and more. She travels the country speaking to groups and churches including keynotes at A.I.G., DuPont, The Southeast Women's Conference, and The Come to the Fire Conference in Olathe, KS. Her book, "My Angels Wear Fur" released in 2003 is in its sixth printing for Thomas Nelson Publishers. In 2007, Kim McLean and Devon O'Day released a joint book/CD called Goodbye My Friend: Celebrating the Memory of a Pet through Thomas Nelson. Their newest foray of books and music is a salute to their southern roots: My Southern Food, a cookbook with Sweet Tea: A Southern Soundtrack out November 2010.Her voice has been heard on all the major TV Networks, hosting specials for BRAVO, Lifetime, and PBS, and on commercials for KFC, Wellstar Hospitals, Hilton Hotels, Abingdon Press, and has just been contracted by the United Methodist's Upper Room to begin recording their library's books for audio. Animal rescue and adoption are a big part of Devon O'Day's life. As a spokesperson for the TN Walking Horse Breeder's and Exhibitors Association, she promotes healthy humane treatment of horses and "clean" ethical treatment in the show ring. She is also helps in fund-raising effortsfor animal organizations around the country both as a speaker and writer.
