Listened to this after reading and both were after watching the film. To be brutally honest my favourite experience was the film. An Arab diplomat goes on adventures in northern viking lands and the events of Beowulf unfold, It's an interesting look at the story and the adventures that they have....
This was a great effort from Michael Crichton.
This is one of the rare cases where I like the film much more than the book. It's written in an unusual way (like a chronicle), which unfortunately means that all the plot, especially the action parts, is rather monotonous.
A kind of ingenious revision to the Beowulf epic - though I've never been a fan of the original. Really enjoyed this book.Creepy at times, funny at others, really worth reading.Pity that it was so short.Wonder how much of it is true.
