Dianna Skowera grew up in North Central Illinois where she helped to run her family's farm. She served 5 and a half years in the US Army as an interrogator and Arabic linguist, during which time she served in Iraq. After her military service she continued to work in the intelligence field, returning to Iraq and also working in Afghanistan. She penned a military memoir to provide the public with an objective view as possible of what life during deployments can be like for US service members, foreign nationals, and foreign combatants. She currently resides in Illinois where she works in the law enforcement community.
