Dick Camp served as a Marine officer for 26 years before retiring in 1988. He was a company commander (L 3/26)1967-68 in Vietnam with the 3rd Marine Division along the DMZ and Khe Sanh. After retiring, Dick spent 16 years in Cincinnati, where he was employed as a school district business manager. Upon retirement, he became the Deputy Director of the Marine Corps' History Division and then Marine Corps Heritage Foundation's VP for Museum Operations at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. He has published more than 70 military oriented articles for various magazines, including Leatherneck, Marine Corps Gazette, Vietnam Magazine, World War II and Naval Institute Press. Dick is also the author of 7 books: Lima 6, A Marine Company Commander in Vietnam; Leatherneck Legends, Conversations with the Marine Corps' Old Breed; Iwo Jima Recon, The U.S. Navy at War, February 17, 1945; Battleship Arizona's Marine at War, Making the Untimate Sacrifice, December 7, 1941; Devil Dogs at Belleau Woods; Last Man Standing, the 1st Marine Regiment on Peleliu; and Operation Phantom Fury, The Assault and Capture of Fallujah, Iraq; Echo Among Warriors, an E-Book.
