My daughter was diagnosed with Asperger's, a form of Autism, three years ago.
Before that diagnosis, I didn't know anything about Autism and I hadn't even heard of Asperger's.
This is an easy-to-read snapshot of some of the conversations, interactions and scenarios we got into that had both of us at times tearing our hair out, at times crying, at times laughing but mostly?
Just trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
I have deliberately made it brief, just over 8,500 words, because I wanted to design a kind of mini-book that would be accessible and quick to read in the hope that more people will take the time to read it and ultimately to raise awareness of Autism and the effect it can have on individuals and their families.
