Lizzy is just a “typical” pre-teen. She is not a little kid anymore but is also not yet a teenager. She wants to be grown up but also doesn’t want to let go of her dependence on her parents. Nevertheless, her “attitude” is growing and annoying her mother who takes every opportunity to let Lizzy know what it was like “in my day”. Lizzy takes every opportunity to demonstrate her “whatever” attitude to her mother as she gets ready for school. Lizzy has a close friend Jenny who provides Lizzy with the stability that she misses from her absent father. Lizzy’s father is an aging rock musician who grew up in the sixties and still spends a great deal of his time away touring. Lizzy is so sad that he is not there with her when she bravely goes in to hospital for an operation. Will her bravery be rewarded?
