"Do On It" was original, funny and an absolute must-read for dog lovers. Told entirely from the point of view of Chet, a large, mixed-breed dog with mismatched ears, who, for reasons we never quite get to, didn't make it all the way through his police dog training but who is now partnered with Ber...
Cute trope having the dog narrate the entire book and the story was good. I tired of the dog's narration, though, 2/3 through the book. I might enjoy it more as a 're-read but currently,I have no plans to buy more in this series.o
Light fun. If you are a dog lover with a tolerance for whimsy and in the mood for some mystery, Dog On It should fit the bill. Definitely a clever concept tailored for canine fans, Quinn mostly succeeds by staying faithful to the concept of dog as narrator. Chet is waiting for his owner and partn...
Bernie's the human guy. He does the driving (a beat up Porsche that goes fast and makes really cool noises), the phone work, and the heavy thinking. Chet's the dog guy. He always rides shotgun and he's in charge of any task that requires a superior sense of smell. Chet also tells the story, so s...
Okay so I liked the readability of the mystery, I liked that it was told from Chet's point of view, but the one thing I really didn't like was the inclusion of a description of the euthanasia and subsequent cremation of a shelter dog.
A nice diversion and Mr. Quinn handles the gimmick, the dog is the narrator, very well. A rather simple detective story but it moves quickly and the characters (human and canine) are good.l
My first Spencer Quinn and won't be the last. It's not only for dog lovers. The rest of the pack can also appreciate the book. The book features one of the most appealing narrators to come down the mystery novel in quite some time: Chet the dog, the steady and stalwart companion of private investigat...
Rounding up because Quinn has channeled a dog in a non-cute and very accurate way.Is the book the best mystery in the world? Nope. In fact, there are some character short cuts that are slightly annoying. However, if you love dogs and own them, you know Chet. And Quinn captures that voice so perfec...
Chet the Jet★★★★☆ (This is a review of the audiobook.) I’ve heard Jim Frangione narrate other audiobooks, so I had to concentrate at first to remember this delightful mystery is told from a dog’s POV. Mr. Fragione does a nice job of it here. I kind of like him with a bit of ‘tongue-in-cheek,’ mix...
