DOMINIC J. CARACCILO is a Principle Program Manager for Parsons Corporation. He is formerly the COO for a global security firm and prior to that he was the Chief Operating Officer and part-owner for Security Solutions & Management LLC; the Director for IT Operations at Facebook; and a Director for Amazon.com. His first post-retirement position was with Knowledge Point as an independent consultant for the United Arab Emirates Land Forces leading their training and readiness transformation process. Caraccilo served over 27 years as a commissioned officer was selected for Brigadier General and retired as Colonel in 2011. Beginning his career in the 8th Infantry in Mainz, West Germany as a platoon leader and then was posted to a number of assignments to include two commands in the 82nd Airborne Division. He completed his company grade time as an assistant professor of Systems Engineering at the US Military Academy at West Point. Caraccilo has 65 months of combat over 7 combat tours. In combat he commanded an 82nd Airborne Company in Desert Storm, a 173rd Airborne Battalion (2-503) in combat parachute assault in Northern Iraq and a 101st Airborne brigade combat team (3/101) in South Baghdad at the height of the insurgency. He was also the operations officer for the 101st Airborne as they controlled MND-N in Iraq and the Executive Officer for the 75th Rangers and participated in Afghanistan during the initial assault in OEF in 2001. He served as the Executive Officer to General Ray Odierno for USF-I in Baghdad before serving in his final assignment as the Deputy Commander for the 101st Airborne Division and Acting Senior Commander of Fort Campbell.Caraccilo has Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in Global Economy and Leadership from CalUniversity and a Master of Arts (MA) in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Caraccilo also has a Master of Engineering (MEng) from Cornell University in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering and a Masters Certificate in Manufacturing also from Cornell University. He has Bachelor of Science (BS) from the US Military Academy at West Point were he served as an assistant professor for systems engineering during his career.He is the author of a number of books and commercial and professional articles to include: Forging a Special Operations Force: The US Army Rangers (Helion, 2015); Beyond Guns and Steel: A War Termination Strategy (Praeger, 2011); Achieving Victory in Iraq: Countering an Insurgency (Stackpole 2008), Surviving Bataan and Beyond (Stackpole 1999 and 2005), Military Intelligence Technology of the Future (Rosen, 2006) and contributing author to the two volume set, The Faces of Victory (Taylor, 1995), and The Ready Brigade (McFarland, 1993). Caraccilo's awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit,, Bronze Star with V Device for Valor, Bronze Star Medal (4th award), Meritorious Service Medal (5th award), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation (3rd award) National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal with Arrowhead, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (5th award), Kosovo Campaign Medal with Bronze service star, Saudi Arabia-Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal Oder of Ste Maurice, Order of Ste Barbara, Combat Infantryman's Badge (second award), Expert Infantryman's Badge, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge with combat jump star and Air Assault Badge.
