Don Best has worked as a missionary with Project AmaZon (PAZ) since 2002. He and his wife, Betty, live at the mission's main base in Santarém, Brazil, working in communications and hosting the mission guesthouse. Don and Betty's love for one another - and also for Brazil - date all the way back to 1974, when they first met in Rio de Janeiro. They have two grown sons - Paul and Jonathan - who live in California and Washington, respectfully. Don is a native Oklahoman with a degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma. Prior to joining the mission he worked as a senior editor at various publications, specializing in stories about construction technology and renewable energy. He has authored four books and numerous newspaper and magazine articles spanning a 35-year career in journalism. Don's most recent book -- Moonlight on the Amazon -- was inspired by what the Lord has so beautifully done in the Amazon, and was written both as a testimony and a catalyst. He is currently working on a novel, also set in the Amazon, titled Once Upon a River. You can contact Don at moonlightontheamazon@gmail.com.
