Don Mankin - President, Adventure TransformationsDon Mankin has been through more career transitions than Arnold Schwarzenegger, from aerospace engineer to psychology professor to business consultant to university dean to travel writer. After graduating from Drexel University with a BS in electrical engineering and Johns Hopkins University with a PhD in psychology, Don spent almost 40 years as an academic. Before fleeing the academic life for good in 2006, he authored four books in management and organizational psychology, including "Teams and Technology" from Harvard Business School Press and "Business Without Boundaries" from Jossey-Bass.His career as a travel writer has been no less peripatetic, taking him from Antarctica to the Arctic with stops in Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and all over North and South America in between. The Wall Street Journal called his latest book (his first travel book), "Riding the Hulahula to the Arctic Ocean," one of the best travel books of 2008. Don's travel articles appear regularly in regional magazines for active seniors. Don recently won the Gold Prize for articles on "over 50 travel and travelers" from the North America Travel Journalists Association.
